A quiet bay
Aurea Bay is fictional, and so is its bay. In the story we tell here, the villas sit above a crescent of pale sand on the sheltered side of a headland, where the water stays calm enough for children in the morning and the fishing boats come home across the flat light in the evening.
There is one road in, a small village at the far end of the beach, and a market twice a week where the kitchen buys its fruit and fish. Nothing about the place hurries, and the villas were placed — in this story — so that each one looks at water, not at another villa.
